Civil engineering
One Horton Heath is an ambitious mixed‑use development in Hampshire, delivering 2,500 homes.
We provided civil engineering to deliver Eastleigh Borough Council’s ‘Infrastructure First’ vision, which prioritises early delivery of essential infrastructure.
Infrastructure that fits naturally into the landscape
Working closely with the council, we designed and delivered the infrastructure that ties the wider site together: new roads, footpaths and cycleways, sustainable drainage and generous green spaces. We also shaped the project’s Design Code, creating a unified approach that weaves existing tree belts, hedgerows and watercourses into the masterplan, alongside biodiversity enhancements and thoughtful public realm features.
Landscaping played a key role. Sensitive planting and ecological design helped bring character to the site and strengthen its long-term environmental value. Alongside the technical work, we contributed to social value initiatives, from school talks and mock interviews to student placements with the Ridge team.
By delivering high-quality designs and guiding the project through key planning milestones, we helped establish a clear direction for the site’s essential infrastructure and community spaces.
Laying the foundations for growth
We delivered the designs for the site’s essential infrastructure and guided the project through its planning milestones. This established a unified design approach and a strong foundation for the infrastructure and community-focused spaces that will support the new neighbourhood as it grows.
Better living, greener future
Our work has helped Eastleigh Borough Council bring their vision for One Horton Heath to life, creating a sustainable, accessible and welcoming development. By putting key infrastructure in first, the project improves everyday experience while supporting the council’s goals for housing, community and climate resilience.
