Fire safety
Fire safety is subject to increasing scrutiny and stricter regulation. The Building Safety Act has reshaped responsibilities, particularly for higher-risk buildings, and the practical implications are still bedding in. We support owners, developers and project teams with advice that is technically robust and readily applicable – whether the challenge lies in a high-rise residential building, a major public facility or a sensitive heritage asset.
Fire safety specialists
We work at every stage – shaping strategy during design, reviewing buildings in occupation and supporting remediation where standards have shifted. Our focus stays the same: we understand the risk fully, resolve it early and ensure decisions stand up to scrutiny.
From higher-risk buildings and “golden thread” requirements to listed properties, we apply legislation with care and precision. Fire safety advice is integrated into projects from the outset, remaining clear, defensible and practical.
-
Risk and compliance
Fire safety carries ongoing legal and operational responsibility. We support clients in managing that responsibility with structured fire risk management systems designed to withstand scrutiny.
Our team works extensively with the Building Safety Act 2022, preparing key building information, registering higher-risk buildings and developing the “golden thread” of safety information. We support building safety cases through intrusive surveys, scenario testing and retrospective documentation.
We also advise on compliance under the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, auditing frameworks and strengthening governance where required. Training and procurement support are provided when needed to ensure fire safety is prioritised effectively within operational teams and project delivery.
-
Strategy and design
Fire strategy needs to be right from the start. We develop clear, technically robust fire strategy reports to support statutory approval under the Building Regulations 2010 (as amended).
Working alongside designers or as part of interdisciplinary project teams, we ensure fire safety is considered early and coordinated properly. Our advice supports approval, reduces late-stage redesign and gives confidence that buildings are safe and compliant.
-
Regulatory accountability
We carry out fire risk assessments under Article 9 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, in accordance with the BAFE SP205 Life Safety Scheme, and we are certified by the National Security Inspectorate.
Our assessors hold third-party registration with the Institution of Fire Engineers, FRACS and the Institute of Fire Safety Managers. This level of accreditation is critical in higher-risk and complex environments, where competence must be demonstrable.
-
Remediation and investigation
Where buildings require retrospective strategy work or remedial intervention, we provide clear documentation of existing fire safety arrangements alongside practical. proportionate routes forward.
This work often supports compliance under Article 11 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and Section 156 of the Building Safety Act 2022. For residential and higher-risk buildings, our reports form part of the “golden thread” of information and underpin building safety cases.
