Sovereign Network Group is upgrading more than 800 homes across London and East Hertfordshire to meet EPC C by 2030.

We have partnered with Sovereign Network Group (SNG) for more than 20 years, delivering services from fire safety and structural engineering to EPCs, stock condition surveys and asset strategy. That history meant we could respond quickly and confidently to their latest retrofit programme.

A smart, joined-up retrofit approach

To meet the scale and challenges of SHDF Wave 2.1, we are providing interdisciplinary retrofit design, project and cost management, principal designer and clerk of works services. Our team is delivering PAS 2035-compliant assessments, designs and monitoring. Upgrades include solar PV, loft insulation, room-in-roof insulation and flat-roof insulation, alongside ventilation improvements that support healthier indoor environments.

Our digital engineering team developed a bespoke AirTable platform tailored to SNG’s KPIs and retrofit needs. It provides real-time dashboards, project management tools and PAS 2035 tracking, bringing the whole team together and keeping communication simple.

Access to properties has been a major challenge. Working with SNG and contractors, we introduced practical engagement tools, including text alerts and a live communications log in the app, helping improve access rates and give residents clearer information.

Our in-house specialists help keep pace across a fastmoving, dispersed programme. For example, our drone team has completed solar panel inspections without scaffolding, and our cost management specialists have supported flexible payment approaches so the client can stay agile and on track.

Work is underway across 800 homes, with assessments, design and coordination progressing steadily. The AirTable tool – winner of Project Innovation of the Year (Large Scale Retrofit) at the Unlock Net Zero Awards – has been central to managing scale and complexity, providing real-time visibility.
