Ajai is a Senior Urban Designer specialising in masterplanning and strategic urban design across the South and Home Counties. Based in the Reading office, he delivers major regeneration schemes, greenfield strategic land projects, and high‑value land promotions.

Ajai’s work is defined by a rigorous understanding of site context, planning policy, and development economics. He produces robust masterplans that balance design quality, commercial viability, and long‑term placemaking outcomes. His responsibilities span the full project lifecycle from early feasibility and capacity testing through to detailed planning submissions ensuring continuity, technical accuracy, and coordinated delivery.

He prepares key planning documentation, including feasibility reports and Design and Access Statements, and develops frameworks that support both outline and detailed planning applications. Ajai also leads technical communication with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams, providing clear design direction, coordinated responses, and expert design reviews that support smooth progression through the planning process.

Before joining Ridge and Partners LLP, Ajai worked at Broadway Malyan on UK and international regeneration projects, Garden Villages, and large‑scale strategic developments. His earlier experience in India includes masterplanning and architectural roles at Mayson’s Infra in Bangalore and Uneven Designs in Vadodara, contributing to complex mixed‑use and residential schemes.

Ajai holds a Master’s degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the University of Manchester and a Bachelor of Architecture from Mahatma Gandhi University.
