With few modern motorsport facilities in the country, A1 Motor Park will give Bulgaria its first world‑class circuit for national and international competitions.

We were appointed to design the race circuit and masterplan for A1 Motor Park (formerly LARA Racing Circuit), supporting the project from first concept through to completion.

Delivering a brand-new permanent race track

Our team provided race track design, civil engineering, homologation and construction support, along with operational guidance for the local team ahead of opening.

We designed a 4km circuit with a flowing, dynamic layout, blending high-speed straights with technical corners and natural elevation changes. One of the key challenges was creating a track that works equally well for cars and motorcycles while meeting both FIA and FIM standards. It needed to feel exciting and authentic, whoever was racing.

By working closely with both governing bodies, the client and the wider design team, including IPA Architecture, we developed a track and set of facilities designed to stand confidently on the world stage.

A circuit ready to host international motorsport events

A1 Motor Park is a world-class venue with everything required to host national and international competitions. Alongside the FIA and FIM-compliant circuit, the site includes a pit building with race control, garages, briefing rooms and a restaurant, as well as hospitality and spectator areas. The venue is scheduled to open in March 2026.

Driving motorsport growth across the region

The circuit puts Bulgaria firmly on the motorsport map – ready to welcome international events and visitors while giving local competitors a world-class facility close to home. It will play a long-term role in growing participation and raising the profile of motorsport across the region, creating a new destination for sport and leisure in the country.
