Project and programme delivery
Abingdon School aimed to evolve its historic campus with state-of-the-art science, boarding, dining, sixth form and creative arts facilities.
Projects needed to be delivered sensitively to preserve heritage and support daily school life.
Dynamic, future-ready facilities
Over several years, we’ve worked alongside Abingdon School to deliver a portfolio of distinctive, future-focused developments aligned with its educational vision. Each project required careful coordination, balancing conservation needs, everyday activity and fixed academic timetables.
At Beech Court, we provided project and cost management for a £6.4 million scheme combining a Sixth Form Centre, library and art department suite. The result is a set of flexible, light-filled spaces designed for independent study and collaboration.
We delivered cost management for the £7 million dining pavilion, replacing a temporary structure with a permanent, energy-efficient building that enhances capacity and dining experience while sitting naturally in its setting.
For the £12.1 million Boarding House programme, we managed both new-build and refurbishment works across constrained areas of the site. Careful procurement and steady planning kept work moving during term time, minimising disruption for pupils and staff.
At Faringdon Lodge, we supported cost control and programme management for a three-storey gateway building linked to science facilities, delivered within a single academic year through detailed planning and thoughtful sequencing.
We also led project management for the Science Centre, a flexible, open-plan facility housing 21 laboratories and achieving BREEAM Very Good – a high performance space designed to work well from day one.
Most recently, we provided full cost management services for a £3 million prep school extension delivered in 47 weeks. The scheme introduced a new music school, science lab and classrooms, alongside a library conversion and targeted, low-impact refurbishments that kept day-to-day learning uninterrupted.
A coordinated, long-term approach
Across every project, programmes were shaped around the school calendar, logistics were managed within a live environment and new buildings were designed to fit naturally within the historic surroundings. Our long-term involvement provided continuity, clarity and steady delivery, ensuring each phase built logically on the last.
Strengthening a campus for generations to come
Our ongoing collaboration with Abingdon School is shaping a campus that supports academic excellence while preserving its heritage character. From high-performance laboratories to inclusive sixth form spaces and sustainable dining facilities, each project contributes to a coherent, future-ready estate designed to serve pupils for decades ahead.

Can I just say a big thank you to the team for all your support this year. It has been extremely busy, but we have got these buildings open, and I am very grateful to everyone involved.
