Appointed by Apex Circuit Design, we delivered fully integrated architecture and interior design, alongside project and cost management.

Masterplanning a world-class motorsport destination

Across 52ha, we helped shape a complete motorsport destination: a 3.2km FIA Grade 2 circuit, a 6,000-seat grandstand, pit lane and paddock, a multi-use pit building, hospitality suites and the Z Club – a luxury venue with restaurants, conference facilities and exhibition space.

The brief was clear: create a circuit that meets international racing standards while offering the level of hospitality guests expect from a premium venue. We balanced high-performance technical infrastructure with event and commercial spaces that feel refined rather than corporate. The circuit sits naturally within the surrounding terrain, and access routes were designed to keep everything moving smoothly on race day.

Working closely with Katherine Pooley Design, we developed interiors aligned with the venue’s neutral white brand. The event spaces are deliberately flexible, ready to host manufacturer training days one week and international launches the next.

A premier venue for motorsport and events

Since opening, the circuit has welcomed major international series such as the TCR Asia Series, China GT Championship, Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific and Asian Formula Renault Series. Global manufacturers including Audi and Mercedes Benz use the track for driver training and brand experience events. It performs just as well for competitive racing as it does for corporate hospitality.

The result is a venue that adapts effortlessly, without ever compromising technical precision.

Global recognition

The development has helped set a new benchmark for motorsport destinations in Asia. The on-site hotel received 'Hotel Under 200 Rooms Global 2019' at The International Hotel and Property Awards, and the wider venue was shortlisted for 'International Project of the Year' at the 2019 Building Awards.

Beyond the awards, the impact is tangible. The circuit strengthens regional tourism, attracts commercial investment and positions Shaoxing as a serious contender on the global motorsport stage.
