Ian is a chartered building surveyor with over 30 years' experience, being elected to membership of the RICS in 1995. For more than two decades Ian has specialised in defects analysis, and contentious property matters, including break clauses, Ground F lease renewal disputes, and dilapidations. He is a recognised authority on contentious property matters, providing expert witness advice - including written and oral evidence under cross-examination - across court proceedings, mediation, and adjudication, and has acted as a court appointed single joint expert on numerous occasions. A past member of the RICS Dilapidations Steering Group, Ian has had articles published in the Estates Gazette, and Journal of Building Survey, Appraisal and Valuation. He currently sits on the editorial boards of two leading industry journals. Ian is known for his authoritative, considered approach and ability to navigate complex disputes with clarity and precision.
