Structural engineering
Robust, independent structural evidence for adjudication, litigation and arbitration.
Independent structural expertise for complex disputes
Our structural engineering expert witness team provides independent, technically rigorous advice on complex construction disputes. We investigate technical issues, establish the relevant facts and deliver clear, well-reasoned expert evidence to support legal teams, clients and tribunals.
Our experts have advised on some of the world’s largest and most complex construction disputes, several involving claims of exceptional scale, from hundreds of millions to billions in value.
We bring the same level of service and attention to smaller disputes, where focused, practical expert input can make a significant difference. Our experience delivering structural engineering solutions within multidisciplinary teams means we scale our approach to the complexity, value and demands of each instruction.

Practical expertise grounded in engineering delivery
Our specialists bring extensive experience designing, assessing and delivering structural systems across residential, commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects in the UK and internationally. Having worked in consultancy and contractor environments, we understand the realities of engineering design, delivery and construction.
We are regularly instructed on matters involving reinforced concrete and steel structures, temporary works, structural failure, ground movement, design adequacy, workmanship, materials, remediation and refurbishment. This practical experience underpins balanced opinions on technical issues, professional responsibilities and project decisions.
We collaborate closely with colleagues in architecture, fire engineering, MEP engineering and building surveying – considering structural issues within their wider project context and providing coordinated expert evidence where required.
-
Clear analysis of complex structural issues
We are regularly instructed to advise on structural failures and collapse, excessive movement, deflection and cracking, reinforced concrete and steel design issues, temporary works and construction methodology, and foundation performance and ground movement. This also extends to existing structures, alterations and remediation, construction defects and workmanship, design coordination and professional responsibility, and design adequacy and completeness.
Our experts review drawings, calculations, site records and testing data to provide independent opinions on compliance, causation and the standard of care expected of a reasonably competent engineer.
A key part of our role is distinguishing between design, construction and material-related causes – often central to the outcome of a dispute. We understand how technical investigations and expert opinions fit within the wider dispute resolution process, keeping our analysis focused on the issues genuinely material to the case.
