Ascot Racecourse set out to create a prestigious fine-dining experience within the Grandstand – delivering the new 220-cover ‘On 5’ restaurant in time for Royal Ascot.
We were first appointed to advise on the procurement strategy, providing cost and project management support to set budgets and shape the best delivery route.
Expert consultancy and project delivery
With limited design information and a tight programme, we recommended a single-stage tender based on a cost plan. This helped select a contractor who could deliver pace and quality.
After the procurement phase, we were retained to manage the full project. The work involved demolishing 14 private boxes to create the new restaurant footprint. Inside, we delivered a state-of-the-art kitchen, elegant dining areas, luxury restrooms, a viewing balcony and an external terrace. We also managed the procurement of all furniture to ensure the space felt cohesive from opening day.
Fine dining meets iconic views
Despite the demanding timeline, we delivered the ‘On 5’ restaurant ahead of Royal Ascot. The space offers a calm, luxurious dining experience with sweeping views of the racecourse. It was completed to an exceptional standard and sits naturally within Ascot’s longstanding reputation for world-class hospitality.
Elevating Ascot’s hospitality experience
The new restaurant has raised the bar for hospitality at Ascot Racecourse. It attracts high-profile guests, enriches the race day experience and provides a versatile, high-end venue for events throughout the year. Through careful planning and delivery, the project leaves a lasting legacy, strengthening Ascot’s position as a premier sporting and social destination.
